Music set Middleton task

Set To Music is on course to make her seasonal reappearance in the Betfred Middleton Stakes at York on Thursday.

Trainer Michael Bell is looking forward to taking The Queen's filly back to the Knavesmire, where she won the Galtres Stakes last August to complete a four-timer.

Set To Music will be dropping back to 10 furlongs after ending last year by finishing second to Meeznah in the Park Hill Stakes over an extended mile and three-quarters at Doncaster in September.

"The long-term plan was to aim her at the Middleton at York," Bell told At The Races.

"She's at home with a bit of cut in the ground and she obviously likes York. She won the Galtres there and she's due to run there next week.

"That's been the plan since January 1 when she came back in and it's a nice place to start her.

"We know she likes the track, she's going to get her ground.

"We know it's going to be a hot race, but you've got to start somewhere and you've got to be hopeful that she'll have a good year."
