Neal double seals Penguins win

James Neal scored twice as the Pittsburgh Penguins made it two wins out of two by beating the New York Rangers 6-3.

Tyler Kennedy, Matt Niskanen, Pascal Dupuis and Kris Letang also scored for the Penguins, while Evgeni Malkin contributed three assists.

For the Rangers, who lost their second straight, the only bright spot was a first goal for Rick Nash, their star signing from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Marian Hossa and Dave Bolland scored a pair apiece as the Chicago Blackhawks followed up their win over the Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings by beating the Phoenix Coyotes 6-4.

Hossa's goals took his total for the fledgling season to four goals.

Thomas Vanek had two goals and three assists as the Buffalo Sabres beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2.

The Sabres trailed 2-1 in the second, but scored four unanswered goals, with Tyler Myers, Cody Hodgson and Steve Ott also tallying.

Zach Parise scored the only goal - his first for Minnesota - as the Wild beat the Dallas Stars 1-0.

Josh Harding had 24 saves for the Wild, who won their second straight after beating Colorado last night.

Patrick Marleau's two goals helped the San Jose Sharks see off the Calgary Flames 4-1 in a game that was both teams' first of the season, while the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 after a shoot-out.
