New deal for Suzuka circuit
Officials from the Suzuka circuit have agreed a new five-year deal for the venue to continue staging the Japanese Grand Prix.
Supremo Bernie Ecclestone met with Hiroshi Soda, president of the Mobilityland Corporation that runs Suzuka, at the Spa-Francorchamps ahead of this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix to sign the new contract that runs from 2014-2018.
Soda said: "It is with great pleasure we have signed a formal contract after having had negotiations since we reached a basic agreement in March this year.
"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Bernie Ecclestone for showing us a great deal of understanding in the process.
"We will continue to work hard to ensure Suzuka remains a venue loved by fans world over."
Ecclestone added: "It has been agreed the Formula One Grand Prix will be hosted at Suzuka Circuit until 2018.
"It is also great to see Honda back in Formula One in 2015 (when they will supply enignes to McLaren).
"I am sure the Japanese Grand Prix will attract greater attention than ever."
