Newcastle v Leeds preview
Midfielder Cheick Tiote will return to the Newcastle starting line-up for Wednesday night's Capital One Cup third-round tie against Leeds.
The Ivory Coast international, who has been kept out of recent Barclays Premier League games by Vurnon Anita, will play, as will full-back Paul Dummett and midfielder Sammy Ameobi.
However, Tiote's central partner last season, Yohan Cabaye, will be rested after limping out of the 3-2 defeat by Hull on Saturday with a sore groin, while striker Shola Ameobi (flu) and midfielder Jonas Gutierrez (hamstring) will also miss out.
Leeds will monitor Sam Byram and Lee Peltier ahead of the trip north.
Byram made his first start since April against Burnley on Saturday following a hip injury but was feeling sore when he was withdrawn after an hour, and Peltier missed the 2-1 defeat with a groin problem.
But a third full-back, Stephen Warnock, will be available after sitting out at the weekend through suspension.
Striker Matt Smith is in line for another start in the cup after climbing off the bench to scores Leeds' consolation goal against the Clarets.
