Newcastle v Saints preview

Newcastle will be without last weekend's match-winner and influential playmaker Yohan Cabaye for Saturday's game against Southampton at St James' Park due to suspension.

The France international scored the only goal in the 1-0 win at Manchester United, but collected his fifth yellow card of the season and will duly serve a one-match ban.

However, Cabaye's French team-mate Mathieu Debuchy returns to the squad following a hip injury, while Ryan Taylor remains sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino has a number of injury worries and Paulo Gazzaniga is likely to continue in goal in the absence of first-choice goalkeeper Artur Boruc (fractured hand) and back-up, Kelvin Davis (back).

Saints midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is a doubt for the game following a pelvic complaint and he will face a late fitness test to decide whether he is fit enough to travel with the squad.

Elsewhere, Victor Wanyama (calf), Nathaniel Clyne (hamstring), Guly do Prado (knee) and Danny Fox (hamstring) are all definitely sidelined.
