Newcomers first up for Derby

Championship newcomers Rotherham United pose the first test of the 2014/15 season for Derby County.

The League One play-off victors will travel to the iPro Stadium on the opening weekend on August 9, with Derby's first away game of the season coming seven days later against Sheffield Wednesday.

August is rounded off with a trip to Charlton on August 19, as well as home games with Fulham (August 23) and Ipswich (August 30) for the beaten play-off semi-finalists of last season.

Steve McClaren's men will return from the first international break of the season with a trip to fierce rivals Nottingham Forest on September 13, while Derby will play host to Forest on January 17.

The Christmas period begins with a home game against relegated Norwich on December 20, with a trip to Birmingham coming on Boxing Day. Two days later, the Rams will play host to Leeds.

The final game of the season will come on May 2 against Reading, but not before games with Watford, Wigan, Brentford, Blackpool, Huddersfield and Millwall coming in a packed month of April.
