The NFL has moved this week's trade deadline back 48 hours because of the threat caused by Hurricane Sandy.
The deadline had been set for 4pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, but has been moved to Thursday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed in an article on the league's official website and via his twitter feed.
"#NFL clubs were just informed trading deadline is being moved from Tues to Thurs 4 pm ET," he wrote on Twitter.
The NFL's headquarters are in New York and will be closed both on Monday and Tuesday, while several teams in or close to affected areas have shut down operations as well.
