Nieminen wins in record time

Jarkko Nieminen's win over Bernard Tomic at the Sony Open is thought to be the quickest recorded on the ATP Tour.

The 6-0 6-1 win lasted just 28 minutes and 20 seconds, Tomic winning only 13 points and dropping his serve on five occasions.

That beat the mark of 29 minutes set by Greg Rusedski when he beat German Carsten Arriens 6-0 6-0 at the 1996 Sydney International.

Tomic's presence at the event in Miami was a surprise, coming ahead of the Australian's expected 12-week recovery schedule after hip surgery which followed his withdrawal from his Australian Open first-round match against Rafael Nadal in January.
