No Dundeel at Royal Ascot
Star New Zealand performer It's A Dundeel will not be heading to Royal Ascot this summer as he has been retired to stud.
The Queen Anne and Prince of Wales's Stakes were mentioned by connections of the Murray Baker-trained five-year-old, who took the valuable Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick last weekend.
Majority owner John Messara takes It's A Dundeel to his Arrowfield Stud.
"He is a six-time Group One winner. A triple crown winner as a three-year-old and the only horse to beat a wonderful mare in Atlantic Jewel," Messara told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"He came out showed he is the best 2000m (horse) in the country on Saturday and we did not need to ask him to show any more.
"Royal Ascot is a meeting where everyone would like to have a runner but in the end he has future at stud and we want to go this year."
