No new faces for Grecians

The only movement at St James Park before the transfer window shuts will be through the exit door, according to Exeter boss Paul Tisdale.

Finances are tight after a string of postponed matches and the club's exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Peterborough meant no extra cash flow from a profitable cup run.

And Tisdale, whose side have slipped to 15th in the table, revealed that 'stripping back' may take place in the coming days rather than reinforcements heading to Devon.

"If there is an opportunity for a player to go out we will take it to ease the cash flow," he said.

"So that is it I suppose. Most teams who have had a tough time are looking to refresh and change things, there aren't many teams who will go into that period stripping the squad back.

"But if anything happens it will be that."
