No play was possible on the first day of Surrey's County Championship match against Durham at the Kia Oval.
It was decided well before the scheduled start that there could be no play until after lunch, but with frequent heavy showers falling all hope was abandoned in early afternoon.
Durham had not played a Championship match in London for five years until last week, when they also suffered a first day washout against Middlesex at Lord's.
