Ascot are confident of racing taking place on Saturday after they lost their meeting last week due to waterlogging.
The Berkshire course has dried out over the last few days but rain is set to return with a total of an inch forecast between Wednesday and Thursday.
"We're a mixture of soft and good to soft at the moment," said clerk of the course Chris Stickels.
"We had about four millimetres of rain in the last 48 hours and we got away lightly over the weekend.
"There is some rain forecast Wednesday/Thursday, but we should be OK. There is an inch forecast which will certainly make it pretty soft and probably heavy in places on the round course, but we should be able to take that.
"Should we get much more than that, then we might get concerned, but at the moment we are fine and raceable.
"With Friday and Saturday looking a bit better we think we'll be fine.
"We had a huge amount of rain in the build-up to last week's meeting. We've been pretty dry for the last three days, so we are in a position where we can take more rain at this stage.
"There's no settled forecast on the horizon, but there's certainly less rain expected towards the weekend with just a chance of showers.
"The heaviest of the rain is forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. We'll just have to see how that develops."
