Northern Ireland call on McArdle
Bradford's Rory McArdle has been called into Northern Ireland's squad for next Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Portugal.
McArdle, initially placed on standby, has been drafted into the main squad following the withdrawal of injured Hull defender Joe Dudgeon.
The 25-year-old, a free summer signing following his release from Aberdeen and an ever-present in Bradford boss Phil Parkinson's side this season, could be handed the task of marking either Cristiano Ronaldo or Nani when the Irish take on Portugal in FC Porto's Estadio do Dragao Stadium.
As a result, McArdle will miss Saturday's derby clash with York.
