Norwich v Doncaster preview

Team news ahead of Wednesday night's Carling Cup third-round tie between Norwich and Doncaster at Carrow Road.

Norwich manager Chris Hughton will hand new signings goalkeeper Mark Bunn, midfielders Alexander Tettey and Jacob Butterfield and on-loan striker Harry Kane the chance to impress against Rovers.

Winger Elliott Bennett will also be in the squad having recovered from a knee injury, as will youngster Josh Murphy and defender Elliott Ward, who is not on Norwich's Premier League squad list.

Midfielder Anthony Pilkington (back) and defender Sebastien Bassong (hamstring) remain sidelined, as does centre-half Steven Whittaker (ankle).

Doncaster striker Billy Paynter is anxious to play some part.

Paynter has missed the last three matches due to a calf injury and may be handed a late fitness test.

Manager Dean Saunders could make several changes to his starting line-up in his bid to upset the Canaries.

Saunders' side hit back to force a 1-1 home draw with Stevenage on Saturday and were given much-needed impetus by substitutes James Harper, Iain Hume and teenager James Husband.

All three players are pushing for a place in the side, while defender Shelton Martis is back in contention following a long-term calf injury.

Midfielder Martin Woods and Paul Keegan are both expected to be fit after sustaining knocks on Saturday.

A last-minute goal by David Syers clinched a surprise 3-2 win for Rovers over Hull in the previous round.
