Notts Co v Colchester preview

Team news for Tuesday's League One clash between Notts County and Colchester United at Meadow Lane.

Notts County's injury crisis has seen manager Shaun Derry register himself as a player ahead of the visit of the U's.

The 36-year-old, who last played for Millwall in November as the Lions drew 2-2 at home with Burnley in the Championship, may have to feature in midfield at some stage against the U's with the Magpies' problems mounting.

Blair Adams, Haydn Hollis and Liam Noble are fresh concerns. The trio are all nursing knocks following the home defeat to Fleetwood and are doubtful. Garry Thompson (knee), Danny Haynes (ankle), Kyle Dixon and Alan Smith were absent on Saturday and look set to remain on the sidelines, although Smith has an outside chance of being involved.

Meanwhile, former Notts defender Mike Edwards has returned to the club as a player/coach and is likely to be included in Derry's plans on Tuesday night.

U's captain Magnus Okuonghae will miss out at Meadow Lane as he serves the second of his three-match suspension.

The defender was shown a straight red card in their Capital One Cup loss at Charlton last week and Colchester failed in their effort to appeal the decision.

Craig Eastmond, who suffered an ankle injury on the first day of the season, is also likely to miss the League One clash, as could Drey Wright (knee).

Dominic Vose, who replaced Wright in the season opener with Oldham, could be handed a start as Joe Dunne looks to recover from his side's 2-1 loss at Bristol City.
