Nunthorpe on Pink radar
Tickled Pink has been confirmed as still on course to run in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York despite a below par run at Goodwood.
Lady Cecil's sprinter was found to be in season before the Group Two King George Stakes, in which she finished seventh as the 3/1 favourite.
The four-year-old grey was also lame after the race.
Irish owner-breeder Trevor Stewart said Tickled Pink, who was won two Group Threes this term, should still prove her well-being in time for the Nunthorpe on August 23.
He said: "She was probably unfortunate as she came into season on the morning of the race.
"We only knew that when we arrived at the racecourse and we took the view to push on.
"She ran a bit lacklustre, I thought, as it was the first time ever she was not the first out of the gates.
"She got a bump, but she didn't come with that winning run we know she is capable of.
"She also finished quite lame, but, fortunately, it doesn't look anything too serious and she should be OK.
"Assuming everything goes her way in the next week or so, the plan is still to go to the Nunthorpe."
