O'Kelly: Bulls performed well

Richard O'Kelly felt Hereford performed well despite their 1-0 defeat to Crewe which saw them slump to the foot of the League Two table.

Midfielder Luke Murphy scored Crewe's winning goal 11 minutes from time after the visitors had been pressed all the way by the battling Bulls.

"I thought it was our best performance since I have been here," O'Kelly said. "Crewe could hold their own in League One now and would give a lot of sides in the Championship a game as well.

"They have some good quality players and I thought it was going to be a tough game, which it was. However I was immensely proud of my players and how they performed - it's just that little bit of luck that makes the difference.

"The downside of the game was the last five minutes, but overall the performance you would take every day of the week.

"We changed a few personnel and the players that came in, James McQuilkin and Richard Peniket, will be in the frame next week. The fact we have a group of players who are pushing each other will only make people better players."
