Ogier extends lead in Mexico

Sebastien Ogier will go into the final day of Rally Mexico in firm control after extending his lead over Jari-Matti Latvala to over a minute.

Ogier did suffer one scare, going on to two wheels after clipping a barrier on SS18, but he will begin Sunday's action 60.3 seconds ahead of Latvala.

Mads Ostberg, who started the day in second, crashed out on stage 12 when his Citroen DS3 hit a bank.

That, combined with the heavy attrition on Friday, means Thierry Neuville is in position to claim a surprise podium finish, having steered his Hyundai into third place in the standings, albeit more than three and a half minutes behind Ogier.

One of those caught up in Friday's chaos, Robert Kubica, was able to resume the rally on Saturday morning but lasted only as far as the second stage of the day before another roll put his Ford Fiesta RS WRC out of action.
