Oklahoma chasing Newmarket pot
Oklahoma City makes a swift reappearance in the £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy at Newmarket on Saturday.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt was a winner at Naas in July and has since finished second in Group Three and Two company.
He was runner-up to well-regarded stablemate Geoffrey Chaucer in the Beresford Stakes only last Sunday and O'Brien is hoping he can once again make the frame in the richly-endowed seven-furlong heat.
He said: "Oklahoma City ran a lovely race when second in the Beresford on Sunday and he seems to have come out of it in good form so we're hoping he'll run well again."
The Andrew Balding-trained Signposted was a winner last time out at Sandown to supplement a previous success at Epsom.
He was beaten on his debut at Newbury but Balding believes he should acquit himself well as he chases a hat-trick.
He said: "Signposted is in good order. He was impressive last time and is effective on any ground.
"Hopefully he can go there and be competitive."
Toofi, Jallota and Muir Lodge, the respective first three home in the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Median Auction Trophy two weeks ago, have also be declared.
Richard Hannon's Bon Voyage was fourth in that race and he again takes his chance, while stablemate Manderley tackles the £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Fillies' Trophy earlier on the Newmarket card.
Bon Voyage does not have much to find on the book, but Manderley was well beaten in her race at Headquarters two weeks ago and will once again face the Godolphin winner Wedding Ring.
The Wiltshire handler told www.richardhannonracing.com: "Manderley has six lengths to find with Wedding Ring from their running here a fortnight ago, but she will appreciate the extra furlong in the fillies' race, as will Bon Voyage in the colts' race.
"He has run three cracking races and it's surprising he is still a maiden, but he has not done a lot wrong, and this seven (furlongs) will suit him, too."
William Haggas' Oxsana, the Brian Meehan-trained Fashion Fund and Zawiyah from Luca Cumani's yard filled the minor places behind Wedding Ring last time and are again in contention.
