Open qualifying at Sunningdale

Sunningdale has replaced Royal Cinque Ports as a venue for Open Championship final qualifying after the Kent course was affected by flooding.

The Berkshire club's New Course, which has previously hosted international final qualifying, joins Gailes Links, Hillside and Woburn as the four venues for final qualifying on July 1.

A change in format this year means venues have been selected in Scotland, the north-west, central and southern regions of England to provide greater accessibility.

Three places in The Open at Royal Liverpool in Hoylake in July are on offer at each of the four events.

"We are very grateful to Sunningdale for agreeing to assist us," said Johnnie Cole-Hamilton, the R&A's executive director - championships.

"It is unfortunate that Royal Cinque Ports is not in a position to host the event after the terrible weather they experienced over the winter, but we know the course is recovering well and look forward to going there in 2015."
