American Melanie Oudin has earned a wild card for this month's French Open.
The 20-year-old racked up the most ranking points during three recent USTA Pro Circuit claycourt events in her homeland to win the invite to Roland Garros.
Oudin won the title in Charlottesville, Virginia, and finished just ahead of Maria Sanchez in the wild-card race, the latter losing in the final at Indian Harbour Beach to miss her chance.
Oudin is best known for her run the the US Open quarter-finals in 2009 when she beat Maria Sharpaova, among others, at Flushing Meadows.
Such results took her as high as 32nd in the world but she has since struggled to live upto expectations and is currently ranked 270th in the world.
The USTA and the French Tennis Federation have a reciprocal agreement in which wild cards into the French and US Opens are exchanged.
Brian Baker earned the USTA's French Open wild card for the men's draw last week.
The tournament gets under way on May 27.
