Padres hit back to stun Dodgers

The San Diego Padres left it late before opening their MLB season with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

For the Dodgers it was their first defeat having already beaten the Arizona Diamondbacks twice this term.

It appeared the Dodgers were on course for a third straight win following Carl Crawford's RBI in the fifth-inning, while Hyun-Jin Ryu had seven scoreless innings.

However, his replacement Brian Wilson allowed Seth Smith's homer to tie the game in the eighth inning before Chris Denorfia's two-run single sealed victory for the Padres.
