Panthers bludgeon Blaze

Petr Kalus scored twice as Nottingham Panthers beat Coventry Blaze 7-2 in the Elite League.

The Czech winger's opener was cancelled out by Ryan Ginand as the first period finished all square but Matt Francis, Lynn Loyns and Kalus again put the Panthers 4-1 up in the second before Ginand once more scored late in the period.

Leigh Salters, Robert Lachowicz and David Clarke then rounded off a win which leaves Nottingham level on points with second-placed Sheffield Steelers, having played a game more.
