Panthers pounce for victory

Nottingham Panthers defeated Coventry Blaze 4-2 in Friday night's Elite League encounter at the National Ice Centre.

The Panthers took the lead through Bruce Graham in the first period, before three unanswered goals in the second by Brandon Benedict, Anthony Stewart and Robert Lachowicz took the game away from the Blaze.

Coventry hit back with goals from Greg Leeb and Mike Bayrack in the final period but Nottingham held on for their third straight win.

The Panthers are now third in the standings, level on 10 points with Coventry who drop to fourth.
