Panthers pound Giants
Nottingham Panthers thrashed Belfast Giants 6-1 in Sunday night's top-of-the-table Elite League showdown at the National Ice Centre.
Belfast led after the first period through an Adam Keefe goal but hosts Nottingham stormed back in stunning fashion with four goals in the second period from Bruce Graham, David Ling, Eric Werner and Brandon Benedict.
Jason Beckett and Matthew Myers then added further scores in the final period as Nottingham moved four points clear of Belfast at the summit.
In Sunday night's other games, fourth-placed Cardiff Devils lost 4-2 at Fife Flyers while Edinburgh Capitals climbed off the foot of the table after downing Scottish rivals Braehead Clan 5-3.
The match between Dundee Stars and Sheffield Steelers was postponed after the English side's bus broke down en route.
