Pardew applauds stats attack
Alan Pardew wants Newcastle to repeat their first-half performance against West Ham for the rest of the season.
Newcastle raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half at Upton Park courtesy of goals from Yohan Cabaye and Loic Remy, and despite conceding on the stroke of half-time, they held out and won the game 3-1.
"Our statistician told me we had 12 shots in the first half. In the Premier League that is a lot. We could have had more than that really," Pardew told The Chronicle.
The Magpies boss is refusing to get carried away with Newcastle's points total which is exactly the same at this stage as it was when they finished fifth.
"Thirty six points is a fantastic total for us and we look forward to the second half of the season," he added.
