Paris mission for Desire

Beyond Desire is likely to bid to open her Group Three account in Paris next month following her victory in a Listed contest at Bath.

Trainer Roger Varian has pencilled in the Prix de Saint-Georges at Longchamp for the speedy five-year-old mare.

Beyond Desire was well-beaten on her previous visit to the French venue in the Prix de l'Abbaye in October, but Varian believes she is stronger this year and therefore better equipped for such competitive sprints.

"I was really pleased for her and her owner. She ran some great races last year without winning and she ran some big races against big strong colts in five-furlong Group races," said Varian.

"It's nice to find her a fillies' race and for her to win. She really is a strong filly now and she is such a fast filly, she's almost a four and a half furlong filly. She has so much speed.

"It's likely she'll go to Longchamp for her next start - the Prix de Saint-Georges, a five-furlong Group Three in the middle of May."
