Inbee Park claimed an early two-shot lead at the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship after a seven-under-par 65 in the first round.
Park made the turn already four shots to the good and then made birdies on the 12th and 13th to move further clear.
The South Korean capped a fine day with another on the 18th.
She sits two shots clear of Yani Tseng of Chinese Taipei who put together a great run of birdies on the 13th, 14th and 15th but only after a costly bogey on the 10th.
There is then a four-way tie for third place with Park Hee-young, Pornanong Phatlum, Danielle Kang and Nicole Castrale all signing for 68s.
Park Hee-young had an up-and-down day, cancelling out bogeys on the first and 14th with an eagle on the sixth, while Phatlum missed out on a share of second with a bogey six on the 18th.
