Pearson: Foxes well equipped

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson says he feels confident his squad is well equipped to be able to deal with any potential setbacks.

The Foxes are currently seven points clear of second-placed Burnley at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table, and have a nine-point lead over third-placed Derby - with a game in hand.

Last season, City managed to win just one of their final 14 games and almost dropped out of the play-off spots, only scrapping into sixth place ahead of Bolton due to their superior goal difference.

Despite this, Pearson is sure his current squad has enough quality to see out the campaign successfully and achieve their ambitions. If Leicester were promoted, it would be their first season back in the Premier League since 2003.

Speaking to The Sun, the 50-year-old said: "With the balance of the squad, I'm confident that if we have any setbacks, we will deal with them.

"We want to achieve promotion - and we still have 16 games left the see the job through."
