Pellegrini seeks cup repeat

Manuel Pellegrini has described Manchester City's victory over Aston Villa in midweek 'as one of our best' and has urged his players to do the same when West Ham visit the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

City require just one point against a team with nothing to play for to secure a second Premier League title in three seasons.

When the teams met at the same venue in the League Cup earlier this year City enjoyed a resounding 6-0 victory - and boss Pellegrini is seeking another ruthless display against the Hammers.

Pellegrini said: "We beat them here in the Capital One Cup, it was a very good game and I hope we can repeat it Sunday.

"But the best way to do it is to play in the same way. We did it especially against Aston Villa. I think that was one of the best games we played the whole year."

He also praised Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko who has returned to the first team in recent weeks to notch some important goals.

The Chilean added: "At this moment, Edin is in a very high level of performance - he is doing very well.

"In other moments, it was Alvaro Negredo or Kun Aguero, so I think all the players are involved.

"I think it was very important at the beginning of the season to have a good squad - more than a team - a squad."
