Stoke winger Jermaine Pennant has to prove himself on his return to the Britannia Stadium, according to assistant manager Dave Kemp.
The 29-year-old winger finishes a three-month loan spell at Wolves this week and will go back to his parent club after starting 10 games and making a further five appearances from the bench for the npower Championship strugglers.
"I don't think he (Pennant) played as much as he would have liked," Kemp told the Sentinel. "But he comes back a Stoke player and we take things from there.
"It hasn't been the easiest of times because results haven't been great, so it doesn't sound as though he was a roaring success."
Stoke have until the end of the transfer window to decide if they will add Pennant to their 25-man Premier League squad.
