Peterhansel retains Dakar lead
Robby Gordon's Hummer charged to victory in the car category on the penultimate day of the Dakar Rally as Stephane Peterhansel held his lead.
The American took the stage victory, his second of the 2013 rally, ahead of Guerlain Chicherit, but it will have little effect on the overall standings with Peterhansel's Mini 44 minutes 38 seconds ahead of Giniel de Villiers going into tomorrow.
On the bikes, home favourite Francisco Lopez took his fourth stage victory of the rally and moved up to second place ahead of Ruben Faria.
Cyril Despres still holds an overall lead of eight minutes 15 seconds.
On the quads, South Africa's Sarel Van Biljon snatched the stage victory from Sebastian Husseini but Marcos Patronelli remains in firm control at the front.
Andrey Karginov won his second stage amongst the trucks, climbing to second place overall but well behind Eduard Nikolaev.
