Phillips named in PFA team

Blackpool's Matt Phillips has been named in the Professional Footballers' Association Team of the Year for the Championship.

The 21-year-old winger had a productive loan spell at Sheffield United earlier in the campaign before returning to Bloomfield Road to spark the Seasiders' play-off charge.

A devastating run of form around the turn of the year brought hat-tricks against Barnsley and in an FA Cup tie against neighbours Fleetwood.

Despite representing England at Under-19 and Under-20 level, Phillips committed his international future to Scotland in February when he received a first senior call-up to Craig Levein's squad.

Injury prevented the former Wycombe man from making his full international debut, but he has continued to be a key member of a Blackpool side that secured a top-six berth with Saturday's comprehensive 4-0 win over Lancashire rivals Burnley.
