Pinilla rules out Leeds move

Cagliari striker Mauricio Pinilla insists he does not want to move to England after being linked with Leeds United.

Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino has just taken ownership of the Championship club, and it is predicted that he will look to move some of his playing assets from Sardinia to Leeds.

Chile international Pinilla is one of the first to be linked with a summer switch to Elland Road, but he has been quick to rule out the idea.

"Leeds? England is not for me," Pinilla told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"My deal expires in 2015, after the World Cup I'll talk with the club and I could leave."

Former Inter Milan player Pinilla, who had a spell with Hearts in Scotland in 2007, is now looking ahead to the World Cup finals.

But he is frustrated by his lack of playing time with Cagliari in recent weeks.

"After the friendly with my national team against Germany, I've gone four consecutive times on the bench without understanding the reason. Technical choice, but I don't understand this decision," he admitted.

Pinilla has scored seven times in 15 starts in Serie A this season.
