Pliskova sails through to final

Karolina Pliskova reached the first WTA Tour final of her career with victory over Ayumi Morita in the Malaysian Open.

Czech 20-year-old Karolina Pliskova needed just 47 minutes to book her place in the first WTA Tour final of her career with a crushing win over Ayumi Morita in the Malaysian Open.

Pliskova, the world number 127, broke her Japanese opponent five times and did not face a single break point on her own serve as she eased to an impressive 6-0 6-2 victory.

Pliskova will face American Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the final after she beat third seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia 6-4 6-1 in 73 minutes.
