Pomersbach ton inspires Heat
Brisbane Heat booked their place in the KFC Big Bash final with a 15-run victory over the Melbourne Renegades.
Luke Pomersbach's stunning innings of 112 not out - the second century of this year's competition - proved the difference as the Renegades were set an intimidating 183-run target.
The hard-hitting left-hander became the tournament's leading run-scorer after cracking 15 fours and two sixes in his devastating 70-ball knock.
He also built strong 80 and 41-run partnerships with Joe Burns (33) and Daniel Christian (11) respectively as Brisbane, who took Will Sheridan's final over for 20, lost just three wickets.
Melbourne, who topped the group stages with seven wins from their eight previous matches, proved their own worst enemies in reply, failing to capitalise on several dropped catches to fall short.
Explosive openers Aaron Finch (23) and Alex Hales (20) both made starts while Ben Rohrer threatened a late rally with 42 off 22 balls.
But, after losing wickets in each of their last five overs, Melbourne eventually fell short.
Brisbane will await the winners of Perth Scorchers v Melbourne Stars in Saturday's final.
