Alexander Povetkin will now defend his 'regular' WBA heavyweight title against Hasim Rahman in Hamburg on July 14.
Povetkin had been due to take on the former world champion on the same bill as David Haye v Dereck Chisora at Upton Park in London.
However, the time difference between the UK and mainland Europe meant the fight was not certain to be shown live in Germany.
It means a return to Germany for the Russian, who earned a narrow decision against Marco Huck in Stuttgart on his latest outing in February.
