Predators thrash Oilers in NHL

The Nashville Predators thrashed the Edmonton Oilers 6-0 in the NHL on Friday as Colin Wilson had a career-high two goals and two assists.

Patric Hornqvist, David Legwand, Rich Clune and Zach Boychuk also had a goal apiece as the Predators won for the first time since February 25, when they beat Dallas in overtime.

They matched their season-high score with six goals as Pekka Rinne made 24 saves for his fourth shutout this season.

The Ottawa Senators broke a four-game losing run with a 3-2 win against the New York Rangers.

Jakob Silfverberg broke a tie with 4:41 left when he got a rebound of defenseman Eric Gryba's shot and put it past Henrik Lundqvist for his fourth goal of the season.

Zack Smith and Patrick Wiercioch scored in the first period, defenseman Sergei Gonchar had two assists and Robin Lehner made 33 saves for the Senators.

The Rangers, who saw a four-game winning run ended, scored through Rick Nash and Brad Richards.

The Winnipeg Jets needed overtime to beat the Florida Panthers 3-2 with Dustin Byfuglien scoring the decisive goal with 40.5 seconds left.

Byfuglien brought the puck across to the right circle and his wrist shot whistled past Jacob Markstrom.

Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd also scored for Winnipeg.

Shawn Matthias and Jonathan Huberdeau scored goals for Florida.

The Anaheim Ducks defeated the Calgary Flames 4-0 and Colorado Avalanche won 6-2 against the Chicago Blackhawks.
