Prizefighter back in capital
The light-middleweights will take centre stage in the final Prizefighter show of the year on November 3.
York Hall has been confirmed as the venue for the final Prizefighter show of 2012, with the light-middleweights taking centre stage on November 3.
Craig McEwan, Curtis Valentine, Peter Vaughan and Navid Mansouri have been announced as four of the eight participants in what will be the 27th edition of the winner-takes-all tournament.
Scotsman McEwan lasted 10 rounds with Andy Lee last year while Valentine, who is from Nottingham, claimed the Central Area title this summer with an impressive victory over Ryan Aston.
Rotherham boxer Mansouri has yet to taste defeat in nine fights as a professional and Vaughan will be making his second Prizefighter appearance, having lost at the semi-final stage at same Bethnal Green venue last year.
"On the back of a great Prizefighter in Liverpool, we are going to have eight hungry guys lining up for the big prize in east London," said Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn. "Craig gave Andy Lee one hell of a fight in March 2011 and he'll be wanting to get back to that level quickly.
"Curtis showed he has some serious power by beating Aston, Mansouri is an unbeaten man ready to step-up to title level and Peter is a big ticket seller with a lot of heart who loves a tear-up so fireworks are guaranteed."
The final quartet of fighters to complete the line-up will be announced in the near future.
