South Africa have selected Faf du Plessis to replace JP Duminy for the second Test against Australia, while Imran Tahir is also included.
Duminy ruptured his Achilles tendon during a training mishap following the opening day of the first Test at the Gabba, and the 28-year-old Du Plessis will make his Test debut at Adelaide Oval on Thursday.
The tourists have made one other change to the team that played in Brisbane with leg-spinner Tahir selected ahead of paceman Rory Kleinveldt, as the South Africans look to benefit from the more spin-friendly pitch at the Adelaide Oval.
Duminy's injury has hurt South Africa in two ways as his off-spinners had allowed captain Graeme Smith and the selectors to pick four specialist fast bowlers in Brisbane without missing out on a spin option.
That has seemingly paved the way for Tahir to come into the side.
