Proteas name unchanged squad

South Africa have named an unchanged 15-man squad for the two-Test series against India, which gets under way later this month.

The Proteas selectors have opted to place their faith in the players who thrashed Pakistan by an innings and 92 runs in Dubai in October to claim a 1-1 draw after a defeat in the series opener.

"We were very happy with the performance of the Proteas in the second Test match at Dubai," said CSA selection convener Andrew Hudson, "and we see no need to change something that is operating well."

The first Test of what is a shortened series due to disagreements between the countries' cricket boards starts at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on December 18 before moving to Durban on Boxing Day.

The South Africa squad is: G Smith (capt), AB de Villiers, H Amla, JP Duminy, F du Plessis, D Elgar, I Tahir, J Kallis, R Kleinveldt, M Morkel, A Petersen, R Peterson, V Philander, D Steyn, T Tsolekile.
