Qatar swoops for Trade Storm

Dual Meydan winner Trade Storm has been bought by Qatar Racing with a view to an international campaign this year.

The David Simcock-trained five-year-old was victorious in a decent handicap at York's International meeting last summer and has made quite an impact in Dubai, winning two of his three starts.

He secured a first Pattern win when claiming the Group Two Zabeel Mile earlier this month and is among the leading hopes for the Dubai Duty Free on World Cup night.

David Redvers, racing manager for Qatar Racing, confirmed the March 30 heat remains his immediate target and the son of Trade Fair will remain with Simcock.

He tweeted: "Excited to report that Trade Storm has been purchased by Qatar Racing and will remain with David Simcock who has done so well with him.

"He remains firmly on course for Dubai Duty Free Group One and will hopefully compete at the top level over eight furlongs this summer around the globe."
