R Sociedad v Aberdeen preview

Aberdeen's new signing Jeffrey Monakana is available to face Real Sociedad in the third round of Europa League qualifying on Thursday night.

The 20-year-old midfielder is an option for Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes, after he joined the Dons on loan from Championship side Brighton, but the game may have come too soon for the player who lacks match fitness.

McInnes has no new injury worries as his side travel to face Sociedad at the Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastian.

He said: "Everyone who was fit for the last game is fit and available for tomorrow. Jeffrey Monakana is in the squad but is slightly behind with his preparation compared to the rest of the team.

"Real Sociedad is a strong name in European football and I think La Liga is regarded, by most, as the best league in Europe.

"Any team that qualifies for Europe from La Liga has to be taken seriously, they are obviously a very good side, with a good tradition and we are delighted to be playing against them. We want to do the best we can.
