Raiders fall just short

Plymouth Raiders failed to close the gap on the top three in the British Basketball League as they went down to a 95-91 defeat at London Lions.

The Raiders led 80-75 at the end of the third quarter but the capital team overturned the deficit to move to within two points of tonight's opponents.

Mike Martin top-scored for the Lions with 26 point, while Michael Ojo could count himself unfortunate to be on the losing side after pouring in 31.

Sheffield Sharks beat Merseyside Tigers 94-74, the Mike Tuck top-scoring with 21. The Tigers are still looking for their first points of the season with 13 losses from as many games.

Manchester Giants held off a Durham Wildcats fightback in the final quarter to claim only their fourth victory of the season by 82-79.
