Raiders too strong for Rocks

Plymouth Raiders strengthened their hold on fourth place in the BBL Championship with a comfortable 97-69 win over Glasgow Rocks.

Just one place separates these sides in the standings but the visitors were rarely in trouble, establishing a three-point lead by the interval before pulling away over the final two quarters.

Drew Lasker top-scored 28 points for Plymouth, who now enjoy a four-point cushion to Glasgow in fifth.

Second-bottom Durham Wildcats recorded only their fifth win in 17 games as they saw off Cheshire Phoenix 101-96.

Ralph Bucci and Keith Page each poured in 23 points for the Wildcats, while Chez Marks' 29 points were in vain for Cheshire, who stay in a share of seventh place with London Lions.

In the first round of the BBL Trophy, Surrey Heat beat Reading Rockets 86-68 and Worthing Thunder were 84-64 winners against Mersey Tigers.
