Rain shortens Antalya event

The Turkish Airlines Ladies Open has been reduced to 54 holes due to heavy rain resulting in a waterlogged course at National Golf Club.

At least 25 millimetres of rain fell overnight and through Friday morning and the decision was quickly made to delay the second round until Saturday.

There will be a cut to the leading 60 players and ties after 36 holes, with the final 18 holes played on Sunday.

Tournament director Steve Kavanagh said: "This decision has been taken with the forecast for heavy rain until mid-afternoon.

"The outlook for tomorrow is for the occasional shower which will give the course ample time to recover and the green keepers time to repair any damage to bunkers. Sunshine is forecast for Sunday."

Scotland's Heather MacRae held a one-shot lead after Thursday's opening round.
