Rangers v Clyde preview

Rangers will monitor Kenny Miller’s fitness over the next 24 hours before deciding whether to involve him in Monday evening’s Petrofac Training Cup tie with Clyde.

The former Scotland forward came off in the second half of Friday's 2-0 Championship win at Falkirk with a reported tight hamstring.

Nicky Clark came on in Miller's place and, after scoring the clinching goal at Westfield, would be likely to stay in the team if the 34-year-old fails to make it.

Full-back Richard Foster and midfielder Ian Black are also being assessed after both missed the clash with the Bairns due to calf knocks.

Defender Arnold Peralta continues to build his fitness after a late return to pre-season training but he will not be considered as he has a groin strain while striker Jon Daly (knee) is nearing a return but the visit of Clyde comes too soon for the Irishman.

Long term Bully Wee injury absentee Iain Gray will miss the game, as will right-back Fraser McGhee, who is due to return from a spell carrying out charity work in Africa only a number of hours before kick-off.

Barry Ferguson takes his new Scottish Two side back to where his playing career started and Clyde are without competitive action since beating Queen's Park 2-0 in the league opener on August 8.
