Rangers v Hibernian preview

Summer signings Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller are in line to start for Rangers against Hibernian in the Petrofac Training Cup tie at Ibrox on Tuesday.

The former Scotland strikers could figure in the first-round tie alongside fellow new recruits Darren McGregor, who joined from St Mirren, and ex-Hearts defender Marius Zaliukas who was without a club following his release from Leeds.

Fellow central defender Bilel Moshni will miss this match and the league opener against Hearts after he was banned for two games by the SFA for his straight red card during Saturday's 2-0 friendly defeat at Derby County.

And boss Ally McCoist will check on the fitness of Lee Wallace, Lee McCulloch and goalkeeper Cammy Bell before finalising his line-up for the first competitive match of the season.

Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs has revealed he decided on his starting XI for the Ibrox clash after the 0-0 draw with East Fife in friendly action at the weekend.

Striker Paul Heffernan is nearing full fitness although he may have to settle for a place on the bench, while new signings Farid El-Alagui, David Gray, Mark Oxley and Scott Allen could all feature.

Stubbs said: \"I know my team, I'm very clear. As long as nothing happens from now to Tuesday I know my team and we're going to work on it over the next few days, a few finishing touches.

\"Rome wasn't built in a day but we've been trying to build Rome in a day. I think it's there for people to see, the strides that we have made in such a short space of time.\"
