Raynor at the double for Rovers
Gareth Raynor scored two tries on his debut as Featherstone Rovers edged out Swinton Lions 26-24 in the Co-operative Championship on Sunday.
Raynor added to two tries from Liam Finn and another score by Sam Smeaton as Featherstone turned an 18-10 half-time deficit into a valuable away win that puts them level with leaders Halifax.
Sheffield missed their chance to join the leading pack as they went down to a 23-16 defeat at Keighley.
Misi Taulapapa had two tries for the Eagles, but Danny Lawton scored one try and kicked three goals in the Keighley win.
That puts the Cougars third on 11 points, one point from the summit, and level with Dewsbury who beat the Hunslet Hawks 16-8, and Batley, who romped past York 30-16 away from home.
