Record entry for US Women's Open

A record 1,364 players have entered this year's US Women's Open.

The figure is 68 more than the previous highest. The youngest is 11-year-old Californian Elizabeth Wang and the oldest 61-year-old Bobbi Lancaster, from Arizona.

Eighty-five golfers are currently fully exempt so go straight into the main event, while 1987 winner Laura Davies is among those to have entered qualifying events.

The tournament takes place at Blackwolf Run in Wisconsin from July 5-8.
